Lawnmower Fix-Up

It is summertime here in the United States; that means lots of growing grass. If you take care of your own yard-work, then you probably spend your fair share of time driving or pushing a lawn-mower around the yard. Over the weekend my mower broke down. The starter went out on me. Fortunately, there is an abundance of lawnmower parts on eBay, so I was able to order a replacement for my broken starter for cheaper than what I'd have to pay from the local repair place (even with shipping costs added). Very nice. Here's a picture of the Kohler Starter I ordered:

The Garden Gnome

Interested in a magical creature to tend to your garden while you sleep at night? Introducing The Garden Gnome! The ornamental garden gnome was originally created during the 19th century in a German town known as Gräfenroda. Garden gnomes immediately became popular and swiftly conquered the attention of the world's gardeners when travelers would bring the ceramic gnomes from Germany to their native countries.

Vinyl Records Galore!

The first known audio recording dates back to 1857, when Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville of France used a device known as a phonoautograph to record sounds on paper with a vibrating needle. The idea of recording sounds evolved and by 1894 it was possible to buy audio recordings on 7-inch discs from the Gramophone Company. Add in some additional refinement to this neighborhood of audio technology and you will have the Vinyl Record. "Vinyls", as they are commonly known, aren't a popular medium in today's age of digital music, but they used to be all the rage and cutting-edge. Vinyls are also still popular collectibles, which is readily apparent on eBay, where the current marketplace for Vinyl Records is over 2.5 MILLION unique listings. That's a lot of Vinyl!!!

An 82-inch 3D Television? Sheesh!

Not that long ago, if you wanted anything close to a 100" viewing screen in your home theater, you would need a projector and a pitch-black room. With the mighty technology of today, it is getting cheaper and cheaper to get a TV of that size.

82 inch television

What is that, over 6-feet of wall space devoted entirely to your television? That's impressive.

To get an idea of what it costs to own such a behemoth of a television, look here on eBay:

Ancient Roman Coins

It amazes me that you can purchase Roman coins on eBay for so cheap. We are talking about coins that are nearly 2,000 years old. People used these coins while going about their daily lives, yet those same people have long ago been reduced to perhaps a few scraps of bones by the destructive hands of time. However, the coins that once jingled in their pockets as they walked down the street to purchase a bit of goat milk can be yours for just a few American dollars.

The Largest eBay Seller?

I thought this was very interesting - PLCCenter is the largest seller on eBay.  By the look of their inventory, that's not so surprising.
